Today is September 11, 2001. 9-11-01. 911. Hmm. Isn't that the number that you call when there is an emergency? We had one today: the worst one in America's history and it stopped America in its tracks.
The background on this page is the cityscape of New York City. Today it was changed forever by terrorists who hated America. The tallest buildings in this picture, the twin towers of the World Trade Center, ceased to exist this morning. Each was hit by a jet passenger plane piloted by terrorists who hijacked them. They boarded and comandeered the jets with box cutting knives and other sharp instruments, stabbed the plane's pilots, staff, and anyone else who resisted them.
The World Trade Center is a complex of 7 huge office towers covering over a dozen blocks. The total number of people who worked in them was about 200,000. The Twin Towers alone had over 50,000 people at work in them when the planes hit. In addition, they often had as many as 150,000 visitors in them daily. They were 1,350 feet tall. In addition, one fifth of the Pentagon, the seat of America's defense establishment, was obliterated by another jet. Yet a fourth jet crashed in Pennsylvania, probably after the pilot was injured and dumped the jet rather than let the terrorists take it over. By the time that pilot was accosted he'd probably already heard of the attack over his headphones and knew what would happen.
In the whole Viet Nam war (police action, thank you Lyndon Johnson) America lost 55,000 troops. The Hiroshima bomb killed about 30,000 in a few seconds. This morning approximately that many may have died in about an hour.
This event is being compared to Pearl Harbor. Pearl Harbor killed a tad over 2,400 sailors. But it was unexpected and America's lax attitude towards its own security helped create the tragedy just as it has this one.
What makes these terrorists cowardly is this. The Japanese attacked a military base capable of defending itself. But with the element of surprise the risk was really small of getting shot down. And it was a military, not a civilian target. Sad but true, that is an acceptable target in warfare. These terrorists purposely attacked defenseless civilians, taping women stewardesses to chairs, slicing their necks in front of other jet passengers. They then began slicing the pilots to ribbons and then using the jet as a flying bomb.
And guess what else? If some of the people on board those jets had guns chances are several thousand lives could have been spared. Killing the attackers with guns is rational. Leaving the crew and passengers defenseless is the IRRATIONAL posture of the Democrap party gun grabbers. One Glock with 13 bullets could have stopped every one of the terrorists DEAD! Wake up stupid! GUNS SAVE LIVES!
I am sick inside at the horrible loss of life. But I am not surprised. In the following articles you will see how terrorists have been getting away with murder over and over because of the empty words of our gutless leaders.
The last time a president took real action against a known terrorist was when President Ronald Reagan bombed Mohammar Ghadaffi's palace with him sleeping in it ten days after some gutless terrorists blew up a bar in Germany in the early 1980's, I think. Ghaffi didn't try that again until he sensed a weakening of resolve in the person of BJ Clinton. As the following articles will show, weakness in dealing with criminals just encourages them to commit more crimes. Not that psychopath BJ Clinton would have worried about that, being a criminal himself.
So now GW Bush is saddled with this calamity. And suddenly all the Democraps are saying that they'll back up the president. Why now? The Democraps in the last few months have been busy gutting his defense budget and smearing his missile defense system as a waste of money.
Let's be simple about this. The Democraps are the primary reason that the terrorists of the world felt secure in continuing to prey on the helpless.
Gutless, stupid, power-hungry Democraps. Liars, control-freaks, socialists, and all the rest of the adverbs that describe them. I just feel empty. Thousands of innocent Americans are dead who voted for them and the gutless Republican'ts.
When will we get some leadership with some guts? Voting for Democraps and Republican'ts will get you more of the same. Vote for any other party, please! It may save some lives! Maybe yours. On to the archived articles.
