Religion Under Attack
Religion is a personal matter. What you choose to believe should be your choice alone. The government of the United States was founded with the phrase:
"In God We Trust"
central to the rest of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The Bill of Rights is the first 10 Amendments to the Constitution. All these are guaranteed by God. No man and no law can take these away. These Rights are yours in the United States as long as God is part of America.
Pilgrims were religious refugees seeking a place to worship in FREEDOM from the oppression of the Church of England. Their descendants followed their example and created the most religiously tolerant society in world history.
Religion gives people strength. It offers solace in the face of the unknown and is a balm for the suffering. The very structure of American society is based around the moral compass provided by religion.
Free Countries Embrace Religion
Religion is anathema to socialism and dictatorships.
Just last month (November 1999) China arrested and imprisoned a Christian group called the Falun Gong, literally by the thousands. This in the face of the U.S. media lying about the "religious tolerance" of China. Black Christians are enslaved in the Sudan, Libya, and Algeria because they are not Moslems.
I went through a period when I was very young where I considered myself an atheist. As I matured and learned more about the world, I had a couple of events that physically touched my life in a way that convinced me God exists. My belief is not in an organized way, I am not a church going type. But I believe that God is part of my life. Sometimes I pray. But mostly I just thank God for the unexpected good things that happen.
The current hateful anti-religion campaign by the Government-Media Complex mirrors the fearsome attacks in the countries dominated by tyrants. It sickens me in the same way crime does. It is wrong. Why the mass media seeks the dismantling of organized religion seems related to the media's leftist-extremist socialist dictator-loving biases. It is no error when article after article portrays China glowingly then on the very next page it documents how more religious people are imprisoned.
The DEMOCRATIC left-wing socialists favors big intrusive and controlling government. Religion is in the way, hence the campaign against it.
