GW Bush was born July 6, 1946

Age 22 years: Completes his Yale Baccalaureate in 1968

He flies F-102 jets in the Air National Guard. The F-102 was considered the most difficult to fly jet of the time and was responsible for many pilot deaths in crashes which earned it the nickname "Flying Coffin". Young GW Bush mastered this jet and signed up to go to Viet Nam. He earned high praise for his natural leadership ability, excellent personal characteristics, and skill as a pilot in the F-102. He was considered "an exemplary pilot" by his commanders.

Age 24 years: He helps his father, George HW Bush, in his unsuccessful race for US Senate against Lloyd Bentsen in 1970. He continues to help in his father's affairs and gains governmental experience for the next few years. He enters Harvard Business School and attends to his studies for 2 years.

Age 29 years: He finished his MBA from Harvard University in 1975. He started his work in the energy field.

Age 31 years: He met and married Laura in 1977 and started a family. To this happy union were born twin daughters Jenna and Barbara, named for their grandmothers.

Age 35 years: In 1981 his father George HW Bush becomes Vice President, Ronald Reagan becomes President and serves for the next 8 years.

Age 42 years: In 1988 he helped his father in a successful campaign for the presidency.

Age 43 years: He assembled a group of partners and together bought the Texas Rangers baseball team. GW Bush served as the Managing General Partner.

Age 48 years: He ran for and succeeded in winning the Governorship of Texas in November 1998.

Age 52 years: He ran for and succeeded in winning a second term as Governor of Texas, a first in Texas history with over 68% of the vote.

Age 54 years: He ran for and was elected President of the United States in November 2000.

Age 58 years: He ran for reelection and won a second term as President of the United States.
