Pop Star Who Couldn't Handle Fame

Here is Michael Jackson November 2002 being sued in court. His sad image belies his past as one of the most brilliant talents modern music produced. He was a handsome young black man with a beautiful smile on his first solo album. But along with his enormous talent were some very self destructive personality problems. His personal worth, once estimated to be about a billion dollars, is rapidly disappearing through bad business deals, lawsuits for non-payment of bills, child sexual abuse, albums that he extravagantly spent money to produce that failed, and a hugely overpriced cost of living in Neverland, his exotic "ranch" near Solvang, California. For a while there it seemed like he could do no wrong and the whole world was at his feet. But after the release of "Thriller" at the zenith of his career things seemed to get more and more weird. His complexion changed from black to white, the nonstop plastic facial surgeries began to strain credibility along with the collapse of his nose as you can see in this picture. Now he is aging gracelessly, perpetually mired in lawsuits brought on by his sense of entitlement. Very sad indeed.
