A few short notes about Papillon by her husband Bob:

Thank you for visiting our website. It is my pleasure to introduce you to a remarkable woman, my wife, Papillon. In the following articles you will read a bit about her. Let me add that she is also very unusual in the discipline she brings to her craft. She is always working on art and is very prolific often producing over one hundred artworks per year. She is also wonderfully bubbly and fun to be around. It is not at all unusual for visitors to the gallery to hug her before they leave.

Her gallery is visually stunning. It is far more colorful than the galleries most people are used to. It "makes me feel good" is a very common comment. All artists "paint their personality" on their canvases. You can read from this that the artist Papillon paints the way she is as a person. Intense, intelligent, powerful, very much like a boxer in a ring. She literally lunges into her work. The large canvases actually produce a thundering sound as she works them. She loses her voice and is weakened by the ordeal these large paintings put her through. The large abstracts are absolutely incredible powerful works of art. I've been in galleries all over the world. Nobody paints like her and very few abstracts affect me and visitors to our gallery like hers do. They stop people in their tracks. I only wish their impact could hit you over the internet. All her works small to large carry this happy-powerful feeling.

We are always amused at what happens when someone new steps into the gallery for the first time. Their mouth drops open and they slowly turn and take in the spectacle. They also enjoy it when she sits at her Yamaha Conservatory Grand Piano in the center of the gallery and gets them involved in a sing along. To this day as far as I know when we had the shop in Carmel we were the only gallery in the town's history to have people inside and outside in the courtyard dancing to Cajun music. We play real music in the gallery. Everything from Pavarotti to Rolling Stones often loud enough to induce dancing and such. If you are in the neighborhood stop in and enjoy yourself.
