1974 THE VIET NAM "THING" WAS COMING APART AND I WAS IN THE NAVY. THE CONGRESS NEVER DECLARED IT A WAR. WE WERE PULLING OUT AND I SAW IT HAPPENING. VIET NAM WAS A FRAUD BECAUSE DEMONCRAP LYNDON BAINES JOHNSON NEVER WANTED TO WIN THE WAR, HE ONLY WANTED TO FIGHT THE VIET CONG GOVERNMENT INTO A TRUCE. IN FIGHTING WARS VICTORY CAN BE THE ONLY GOAL, ANYTHING LESS THAN TOTAL VICTORY WILL BE A LOSS. HISTORY SHOWS IN 20:20 HINDSIGHT WHAT HAPPENS WHEN DICTATORSHIPS WIN: HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF INNOCENTS ARE ENSLAVED AND MURDERED.
I WAS A NAVY CORPSMAN STATIONED IN THE LONG BEACH NAVAL HOSPITAL NEAR LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA. I MOSTLY WORKED ICU TAKING CARE OF CARDIAC AND OTHER OLDER TYPES. AWFUL LOT OF OLD ALCOHOLICS WHO DRANK UNTIL I SAW THEM WITH TERMINAL CIRRHOSIS OF THE LIVER, ESOPHAGEAL VARICIES AND CRATERED STOMACHS. I TOOK CARE OF SAD YOUNG MEN WHO CAME BACK INJURED OR DEALING WITH TROPICAL DISEASE LIKE MALARIA AND LEPROSY. THEY WERE THERE. I DIDN'T GET SENT, THANK GOD.
IT WAS A CRAZY TIME IN AMERICA. THE 60'S AND 70'S TRANSITION FROM PSYCHEDELIC TO DISCO. FROM DO YOUR OWN THING TO EVERYONE WANTING TO LOOK LIKE JOHN TRAVOLTA. GREAT MUSIC, LOTS OF FREEDOM. BUT IT WAS VERY UNREAL.
I HAVE DONE SOME MATURING SINCE THEN. I'VE READ SOME HISTORY. I HAVE SPENT QUITE A LOT OF TIME CONTEMPLATING THE MOST IMPORTANT WORD FOR AMERICA. THAT WORD IS FREEDOM. IT WAS AMONG THE LAST WORDS SPOKEN BY WILLIAM WALLACE BEFORE HE DIED ATTEMPTING TO FREE SCOTLAND. HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF PEOPLE HAVE BEEN KILLED BY THE REGIMES IN THE SOVIET UNION, CHINA, AND SOUTHEAST ASIA AND AFRICA. And most recently by Afghanistan's Taliban. FREEDOM. NO, NONE THERE. THAT IS UNTIL AMERICA SETS THEM FREE!
THESE DEAD WERE ARTISTS, MUSICIANS, DOCTORS, NURSES, TAILORS, COOKS, FARMERS & PRIESTS, CARPENTERS, ENGINEERS AND MINERS. IN OTHER WORDS "THE SALT OF THE EARTH." JUST LIKE YOU.
AMERICA COULD BE EMPTIED OF ITS ENTIRE POPULATION AND BE NEARLY REPOPULATED IF THE PEOPLE KILLED BY DICTATORSHIPS COULD BE BROUGHT BACK TO LIFE...JUST FROM THE LAST 100 YEARS!
THERE IS ONLY ONE SINGLE COUNTRY ON EARTH THAT DARES TO CREATE, ENFORCE AND SPREAD FREEDOM. IT'S NOT FRANCE, SWEDEN, MEXICO, OR THE UNITED NATIONS. ONLY AMERICA HAS THE MEANS AND THE WILL TO FIGHT FOR FREEDOM AND LEAD SYMPATHETIC COUNTRIES LIKE ENGLAND INTO THE HELL IT TAKES TO FREE ENSLAVED PEOPLE'S AROUND THE WORLD FROM DICTATORSHIPS.
MAN HAS PROGRESSED TECHNOLOGICALLY. IN RUANDA, AFRICA A COUPLE YEARS AGO NEARLY A MILLION HUTU'S AND TUTSI VILLAGERS HACKED EACH OTHER TO DEATH WITH MACHETES. I READ 2 YEARS AGO "THE RAPE OF NANKING" THE UNTOLD STORY OF HOW JAPAN KILLED OVER 30 MILLION CHINESE. THIS WAS IN THE MID TO LATE 1930'S BEFORE WE ENTERED THE WAR. THE JAPANESE HAD CONTESTS TO SEE WHO COULD CHOP OFF THE MOST HEADS IN THE LEAST TIME. THEY MODERNIZED WARFARE. THEY BRED BUBONIC PLAGUE INFESTED FLEAS AND RELEASED THEM OVER CHINA FROM THEIR OLD BIPLANES. THE EARLY MACHINE GUNS WERE MUCH FASTER THAN KNIVES AND CLUBS. THEY SHOT UNTIL THE MUZZLES WERE RED FROM THE HEAT AND PILES OF THE CITY FOLK WERE PUSHED INTO PITS WITH BULLDOZERS.
IN EVERY CASE THE PEOPLE WHO WERE THE EASIEST TO SLAUGHTER WERE DISARMED. FOLKS LIKE US!
WOULD IT HAVE MADE ANY DIFFERENCE TO THE DEAD CHINESE, AFRICANS, AND RUSSIANS AND THE CHRISTIANS OF EAST TIMOR IF THEY COULD HAVE PROTECTED THEMSELVES FROM THEIR GOVERNMENTS WITH GUNS?
THE FOUNDERS OF THE UNITED STATES GAVE US THE SECOND AMENDMENT TO PROTECT ALL OF THE OTHER RIGHTS WE TAKE FOR GRANTED.
WITHOUT THE SECOND AMENDMENT THE OTHER RIGHTS SIMPLY DISAPPEAR.
