America

Back to the Music: A LifeLong Source of Joy Page

Alright, alright...I know. This is one of the only bands with worse lyrics than the Beach Boys. But America is highly listenable and if you have a pre-teen daughter she'll swoon over the incredibly smooth harmonies these guys created. Just a side story here. When we got "America", the first album, into the studio and started playing it we immediately got phone calls trying to find out who the group was. It had not yet been released to the public. We were telling the callers who it was and they all wanted it. It wasn't released to the public for the next couple weeks. When it finally did the album and the group were a huge hit. Nice memories. Both albums for $10 plus shipping.

This is the first of their albums. It is a very consistent album start to finish and very unpretentious. Primarily acoustic guitars and lovely mellow harmonies. Lots of hit titles like "Horse with no name," "Three Roses", "I need you" and more. Wisely they didn't include a lyric sheet to accompany the totally pc album cover. This lp is in very good condition with low surface noise and no skips. In addition it has the original poster insert plus articles I've cut out in the past.

Here is the second America album I have for sale. This one contains big hits like "Muskrat Love" which a few laters was covered by The Captain and Tenille and made a big hit all over again. Another consistent album with many fine tight harmonies and more lyrics that if you ignore or if you are loaded sound sound just fine. This is another album that is fine for background for your pre-teen daughter. This one also contains the full sized original poster. By the way, they are still touring Las Vegas and other venues annually. It must be tough now that their groupies are now middle aged and married with kids. Just like me, Oh, Golly!
